Sisters360 coming to Slough: The true story of skateboarding sisters.

Inspired by the true story of three sisters from Hull who challenged stereotypes through skateboarding, Sisters360 UK tour is rolling into the Curve Venue on April 2nd. Written by award-winning playwright Asif Khan and produced by Turtle Key Arts, Sisters360 is a funny, high-energy play that uses skateboarding as an unlikely antidote to prejudice while daring to dream big.

When I first came to the UK as a student in Glasgow, I never imagined that my professional journey would begin in Slough. There are hundreds of towns and cities across the country, yet I got my first job here. At first I thought it was just a coincidence. Later I realised there might be a reason.
When I first told my friends, twenty years ago, that my family might be moving to Slough, the reactions were hesitant at best. “Are you sure?” they asked. “Slough isn’t the place you think it is.” That was my first impression, shaped by outdated stereotypes rather than lived experience.
Slough was once fields and quiet paths, long before pavements and even business shaped its significance. Now, it’s a mosaic, decorated with layers of success, stories and dreams that has kept the town ticking over recent years.
