On Friday (20.06) evening, we headed to The Curve in Slough to watch Fault Lines by Lila Dance, and honestly, we weren’t prepared for how powerful it would be. It wasn’t just a show, it was an experience that stayed with us long after we left.
Set in a world ravaged by climate change, the story follows a group of survivors as they attempt to rebuild and find hope. It made us stop and think about our relationship with the planet and the pace at which we’re all moving through life.
The performance blended so many beautiful elements, raw and honest writing by BBC’s Nick Walker, stunning digital visuals by Zach Walker and Courtney McCarthy and moving original music by Dougie Evans.
Every part of it worked together to pull us into this emotional, futuristic world. Yes, the themes were heavy, but they were handled with so much care. It reminded us that even in uncertain times, small acts of hope and community can make a difference. Even though the show is over, we’re so glad it happened right here in Slough. It’s proof that meaningful and creative events are happening locally, and it’s exciting to see The Curve bringing powerful stories like this to life.
Here’s to more evenings like this in Slough – a place where voices are heard, stories are shared, and the arts truly belong.
